When Henry hits the dusty trail en route for Two Forks, 

I'm reminded of a time when I dreamt of summers salty with the sweat of bare hands, 

ragged rough and aching, 

building a house of solitude beneath a canopy of stars. 

Between hours of beaded grit on burning skin my half-hewn cabin 

casts a shade for me to rest, 

and on a slow-burner of an afternoon with resin'd fingertips 

sweet with the felted scent of fresh pine, 

I am content to be alone. 

I miss the darkened rainfall most.
